CHEERS!!!! CAMDEN MAINE ARTS COLLABORATION!!!

Camden Maine Arts Collaboration, Thank You for putting on such a great evening in the historic 3rd floor gallery ( a.k.a: Funkton Lounge ) of the Camden Opera House.  It was the first of many great evenings to come.  A collaboration amongst artists, musicians & artisans is without a doubt the most single important aspect of these Live Art Dance Party’s in order to deliver a special experience for the guests. A special evening is what was had by all, so thank you collaborators.

Like to thank the following collaboractors for making this happen: Jenna Lookner (Co-Collaborator) , Kelly Hailey (Artisan), Robert Dyer (Artiste), Jessie Felix (Photographer), Terry Frank (DeeJay), Jonathon Wood (Singer/Songwriter), Stiff Whisker and the Driftwood Kids ( Musicians ), Gabe Finklestein ( traveling slide-show)

The following sponors: The Camden Riverhouse, Peter Ott’s( don’t forget, you receive 10% off any menu-item thru Saturday March 27 when you present        your ticket from the Live Art Dance Party ), The Cutting Edge, French & Brawn.

Thanks to Farmer’s Fare for providing those delicious treats!!  A special thanks to Rockport Blue-Print, who will continue to sponsor art supplies for                      ” The Rockport Blue-Print interactive art corner “

Many great raffle prizes were won that evening and the winners names will be posted shortly!!  A big thanks to Olad ( 2 day sail passes ), Camden International Film Festival ( October 1-4, 2010 - 2 passes ), Jessie Felix ( matted photograph ), Kelly Hailey ( Re-Claimed Wooden Mirror ), Robert Dyer ( Evening’s Spoken Art )

The Camden Opera House could not be more pleased to host an event that fits the 3rd floor galley so well.  They, like Camden Maine Arts Collaboration understand the importance of bringing quality entertainment to audiences from the  Mid-Coast, Islands & beyond!!  So thank you Camden Oper House for your support as well!!!

Last and certainly not least was the collaboration with Youth Arts.  A Camden based non-profit organization that operates soley on a volunteer basis, serving the SAD 28 k-12 public school district.  Music and the Arts, to flourish in the present and future relies on our support for the young children and young adults of this and other communities. With constant awareness and continual support, events like the ” Live Art Dance Party ” and other types of events can assist with Youth Arts mission.  So send them your support whether financial or moral!!

The next ” Live Art Dance Party - Let The Side-Trail…In “ is slated for Late May in the Funkton Lounge.  The Climatics will be head-Lining.  A great ska-reggae group who are quite eager to lay down the grooves for us!  We will also have the spoken art of not only Robert Dyer but we are fortunate to have Local artist Isiah Pottle collaborate as well.

W do not want to re-veal too much more right now but it will prove to be another amazing evening.  So thank you for collaborating and look to forward to the next Funkton Lounge experience.

     Best Regards,

     Mr. Funkton Dark-Water

Attention Musicians, Artists, Creators and Craftspeople of all Persuasions: We Want You!

Collaboration
1. To work together, especially in a joint intellectual effort.

2. Something created by working jointly with another or others.

One of the goals of Camden Maine Arts Collaborations is to suss out the many incredibly talented individuals in our community (and, of course, beyond). Our mixed media shows will focus on a plethora of delights for the senses. Our March show will feature an array of performances, including diverse musical acts, a cash bar, raffle and breathtaking live art by talented local artist and innovator Rob Dyer. We’ll also have arts activities for kids thanks to a generous materials donation from Camden’s Rockport Blueprint, a beloved main street business and supplier of both inspiration and materials for locals and locals at heart: from acclaimed artists to art lovers and aspiring artists of all ages!

We know it can be tough to find a niche in the market— advertising can be costly and sometimes it can be hard to find an outlet for your work. Our model is designed to welcome new and established artists and performers into an open and interested community by facilitating the most eclectic and interesting shows we possibly can. Our vision involves facilitating presentations curated to a diverse all-ages audience while showcasing art and artisanal goods and the individuals who create them. Through the help of generous sponsors we hope to provide many lively gatherings— filled with great music, beautiful goods and the opportunity for community members of all ages to interact in a vibrant setting infused with many incarnations of creativity, all while supporting local non-profit causes (a percentage of the proceeds from our March show will benefit YOUTH ARTS).

Since we’re starting with a monthly event we’d love to hear from anyone who wants to get involved on an artistic level— we’ve got some great surprises in store for the coming months and would love to include more!

We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in being a part of the tapestry we’re working to weave together: from established veterans of the creative community to all of the quietly passionate individuals working away in studios, barns, coffee shops and kitchens everywhere.
